Biography

I'm a water resources engineer with four years' experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling for infrastructure projects, community flood studies and environmental impact assessments. I hope to focus my career on understanding the impacts of climate change to help inform future investment in flood risk management and water infrastructure. I also have a strong interest in humanitarian engineering and have been involved with Engineers Without Borders for the last eight years, including as Queensland President in 2014. I believe that scientists, engineers and technologists have an important role to play in creating a more resilient and inclusive society.

Skills & Expertise

  • Climate change
  • Humanitarian engineering
  • Hydrology
  • Flood risk management
  • Simulating natural systems

I am excited to develop my leadership skills because I think that technical knowledge can be a lot more useful if you are skilled at communicating it and working well with other people
